About the role

The Dining Attendant is an essential member of the Dietary Services team responsible for delivering food for residents and employees, portioning food according to department standards and supervisor's instructions, assembling food attractively on plates according to department guidelines, handling food appropriately to maintain proper temperature, maintaining assigned departments in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner, transporting and storing food safely and properly to ensure food quality, adhering to safety and sanitation standards to ensure quality food service, and providing relief for other duties in patient food services as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food for residents and employees
• Portion food according to department standards and supervisor’s instructions
• Assemble food attractively on plates according to department guidelines
• Handle food appropriately to maintain proper temperature
• Maintain assigned departments in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner
• Transport and store food safely and properly to ensure food quality
• Adhere to safety and sanitation standards to ensure quality food service
• Provide relief for other duties in patient food services as needed

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, follow oral and written instructions
• On-the-job training provided
• Ability to work harmoniously with a variety of people
• Show courtesy and tact, confidentiality, and reasonable speed in performance of duties

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in food service or related field preferred

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
