Dimensional Engineer - GM Defense
About the role
We are looking for a self-driven individual with GD&T experience (creating and interpreting) that can act as a resource for the Engineering teams within GM Defense. Your main responsibility will be the definition of GD&T criteria for vehicle components and sub-systems. You will also assist suppliers understand and utilize GD&T to set up part qualification systems as needed.
Responsibilities
- Define GD&T criteria for vehicle components and sub-systems
- Assist suppliers in understanding and utilizing GD&T
- Ensure high quality designs by utilizing knowledge of engineering tools and processes
- Coach and lead suppliers to timely execution of program work with perfection
- Resolve highly sophisticated technical issues and conduct advanced research
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve product quality and procedures
- Be skilled and proficient with the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Perform multiple tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of experience working in an engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 years of component and sub-system GD&T design/release
- Knowledge of high and low build volume processes
- GD&T knowledge as it pertains to developing part inspection criteria
- GD&T understanding of how variation affects the manufacturability of mating components
- Build process trouble shooting experience
- Excellent collaboration skills with others within and outside of their direct organization
- Ability to work professionally with suppliers and vendors directly
- Demonstrated ability to solve design/manufacturing issues quickly as part of a multi-functional team
- Run efficient meetings using the Global Product Group guidelines
- Resolve engineering issues, present at multi-functional meetings and track to implementation
Qualifications
- Candidate must either be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
Schedule
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}. The selected candidate will be required to travel
