Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fabricated piping spools according to isometric drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication specifications.
- Verify dimensions including: Overall spool length, Center-to-center measurements, Flange orientation and rotation, Elbow angles, Branch locations, Pipe alignment and squareness.
- Use measuring equipment such as tape measures, Vernier calipers, laser measuring devices, angle finders, and levels.
- Review fabrication drawings, weld maps, and quality documentation.
- Record inspection results and prepare dimensional inspection reports.
- Identify and document non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with fabrication personnel.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, ASME codes, and client requirements.
- Work with welding inspectors, QA/QC personnel, and production teams to resolve dimensional issues.
- Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability of inspected components.
- Follow company safety procedures and quality management systems.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent; technical training is preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in piping fabrication, QA/QC, or dimensional inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret piping isometric drawings and fabrication blueprints.
- Knowledge of piping fabrication processes and welding practices.
- Familiarity with ASME B31.1, B31.3, ASME Section V (where applicable), and industry quality standards such as PFI-ES-3.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inspection reporting software are an advantage.
