Digital Workplace & Automation Specialist
Dreem Health, powered by Sunrise, is America’s leading digital sleep clinic. We make sleep care simple by replacing long waits and in-lab sleep studies with home-based testing, expert telehealth visits, and personalized treatment plans. Our mission is to fix the broken sleep care journey and help more people get the care they need—from home, on their schedule.
About the role
The Workplace Technology & AI Automation Specialist owns the digital backbone of the employee experience at Sunrise/Dreem Health: IT provisioning and support, user access management, and the design and delivery of AI-powered automations across non-clinical teams. This role exists to remove friction so people can do their best work in a remote-first, fast-scaling organization where tooling, access, and AI capability are expanding rapidly.
This is a foundational hire with two key halves:
- Operational: Provisioning hardware and accounts, managing access and permissions, and providing first-line IT support.
- Developmental: Identifying repetitive, low-human-value work across non-clinical teams (Operations, G&A, Product, Sales & Marketing) and building AI-powered solutions to eliminate or streamline it.
The role sits in People & Culture, prioritizing the employee experience of technology, with a dotted line to the CTO for tooling, governance, and security.
Responsibilities
IT Provisioning & Support (50%)
- Manage end-to-end device and account provisioning for new hires, including hardware ordering, MDM enrollment via Deel IT, and core software accounts.
- Own day-to-day IT support: troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues; triage and resolve tickets; escalate to vendors as needed.
- Manage user access provisioning and deprovisioning across Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, HRIS, and other tools, ensuring role-aligned access and prompt removal on departure.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of company hardware, software licenses, and SaaS subscriptions; identify redundant or underused tools.
- Partner with the CTO’s team on IT governance, security baselines (e.g., access reviews, device compliance), and vendor management for digital workplace tools (e.g., Deel IT, Notion, Google, Claude).
- Define and improve onboarding/offboarding IT checklists to ensure a smooth day-one experience, especially for remote hires.
AI-Powered Process Automation (Non-Clinical Teams) (50%)
- Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions—agentic workflows, automations, and integrations—to eliminate or streamline repetitive, low-human-value work.
- Identify high-value, repetitive workflows in Operations, G&A, and Sales & Marketing that are strong candidates for AI-assisted automation.
- Build and ship automations using tools like Claude, Make.com, Zapier, or Lovable, partnering with process owners to map current workflows and document solutions for maintainability.
- Partner with the CTO on tooling decisions, governance, and scope boundaries between this role and the clinical AI/product roadmap.
- Track and report on automation impact (e.g., hours saved, error reduction, volume processed) to demonstrate ROI and prioritize future projects.
This list reflects primary responsibilities; duties may evolve based on business needs.
Requirements
Technical / Hard Skills
- Demonstrated technical range across IT support, workplace technology, or digital operations—gained through roles, projects, or self-driven learning—ideally in a remote-first or distributed organization.
- Working knowledge of IT fundamentals: device management (MDM), access/identity management, and SaaS administration.
- Solid expertise and interest in agentic AI workflows and tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT Enterprise, automation platforms).
- Hands-on experience building and shipping AI-powered automations or agentic workflows that solved real business problems (e.g., automating intake processes, integrating AI into workflows via Make.com/Zapier).
Behavioral / Soft Skills
- Strong self-starter: comfortable balancing hands-on execution (e.g., fixing a laptop) with strategic planning (e.g., AI automation roadmaps).
- Process-mapping instinct: able to translate messy manual workflows from non-technical stakeholders into working automations.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills for non-technical audiences.
- Documentation-first mindset: treats undocumented knowledge as an organizational risk.
- Comfortable as the sole owner of a function with no built-in backup.
- Experience working cross-functionally with People/HR and Technology/Engineering teams.
- English fluency; French proficiency is a plus.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience scaling digital workplace technology during high-growth periods (e.g., 150 → 300+ FTE).
- Prior experience as a "first" or solo hire building a function from scratch.
- Familiarity with Deel IT, Google Workspace administration, or comparable MDM/identity stacks.
- Genuine interest in sleep, health, and improving well-being.
Benefits
- Meaningful work improving lives through better sleep care.
