Digital Video Producer I (Spanish)
ESPN’s Digital Video team is looking for a bilingual (Spanish/English) producer to create and edit trending video content and shows for our Spanish-language digital channels.
About the role
You will produce and edit daily digital video shows and segments for YouTube and social platforms, including live and on-location productions. You will also semi-regularly oversee all production within the Digital Video newsroom—creating and distributing daily assignments, communicating real-time engagement metrics, planning with internal partners, and working directly with hosts and reporters. As the team grows, you may have the opportunity to manage direct reports through mentorship and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Become a subject-matter expert on all ESPN Digital platforms (ESPN.com, ESPN App, YouTube, social media) and apply that expertise to expand reach, engagement, and distribution of content.
- Produce daily digital video shows and segments for YouTube and social media platforms, including live shows and on-site productions.
- Help create daily assignments and contribute to production as part of a team of content producers.
- Semi-regularly act as the main point of contact for all daily production within the Digital Video newsroom, collaborating with global content teams.
- Manage one or more direct reports through a nurturing relationship focused on long-term employee development.
- Participate with internal and external teams in the creation and distribution of content that activates new audiences.
- Analyze usage and performance metrics to inform content enhancements and improvements.
- Effectively manage production timelines to ensure projects are executed on time.
- Maintain proficiency in the latest trends, technology, and best practices for digital video content on ESPN platforms, including YouTube.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of combined media experience with a focus on digital media.
- Advanced non-linear editing skills (Quantel, Final Cut, Avid, Premiere, After Effects, etc.).
- Experience producing digital video shows, including live and on-site productions.
- Deep knowledge of soccer competitions: LaLiga, UEFA (top 4 European leagues), UCL, UWCL, LigaMX, Concacaf, FIFA, and Conmebol.
- Ample knowledge of MLB, NFL, and NBA.
- Excellent writing skills in Spanish and full bilingual proficiency (written and verbal) in Spanish and English.
- Understanding of optimal tactics for content distribution and the core characteristics of “viral” content.
- Ability to work quickly and juggle multiple varied tasks during a typical workday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing employees and setting detailed assignments for a group.
- Minimum of 1 year of practical digital/social production or related experience.
- Experience editing content tailored to the needs and specs of multiple social media platforms.
- Experience working in a mobile-first content environment.
- Experience with a variety of digital content management systems.
- Strong presentation skills.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- College Degree in a media-related field (preferred).
Pay
The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $87,100 to $116,800 per year. The base pay offered will reflect internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be included, along with the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
