About the role

Enabling a premium digital experience for customers throughout their journey with Audi and the ability to purchase Audi vehicles and products will be key for the future success of our organization. This role will focus on the creation of digital commerce experiences within the myAudi web and mobile app platforms. As we risk growing a gap between our online and offline world, there is a critical need for Audi to create a premium customer journey, ensuring the seamless integration of the digital and analog worlds, delivering a high level of emotional engagement. The Product Owner will be responsible for digital customer-facing commerce experiences for Audi across the US and Canada.

This is a career-level position (20P) located in Reston, VA or Auburn Hills, MI with a hybrid role classification.

Responsibilities

  • Drive development to deliver the product strategy for both desktop and mobile websites, enabling a premium purchase experience.
  • Engage and inform management and stakeholders of developments.
  • Manage budgets and quality of defined projects together with Audi AG, cross-functional teams, agencies, and Audi leadership.
  • Transform the digital experience into a personalized commerce experience by taking a customer-centric perspective.
  • Steer cross-functional teams and define the needs of the commerce experience, finding solutions with Audi AG and NAR IT departments.
  • Support procurement and budgeting tasks.
  • Collaborate with and steer the digital agency in terms of solutions to achieve business outcomes based on required timelines and budget.
  • Gather user input and market trends to define product requirements.
  • Work within an Agile-compliant framework and collaborate with partners/business owners to convert strategy and priorities into tangible business requirements, prototypes, design concepts, and feasible product roadmaps.
  • Understand business implications of decisions to align work with strategic goals.
  • Review customer satisfaction results; recommend, design, and implement personal and business unit action plans.
  • Review, analyze, and prioritize Voice of the Customer feedback to incorporate into user stories.
  • Guide development teams to produce creative solutions that deliver results by connecting them to the business teams and product vision.
  • Organize interdepartmental activities to ensure completion of product iterations on schedule and within budget.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental product owner meetings to enable sharing of Agile best practices and peer coaching opportunities.

Requirements

  • 7–9 years of experience in web and mobile digital development, with an emphasis in Scrum and/or Agile product ownership roles; and/or automotive industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or Engineering (required).
  • Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or Engineering (desired).

Skills

  • Blend of strategic and tactical thinking, creative and analytic reasoning, and a deep knowledge of human-centered design.
  • Passion for identifying and solving real consumer and business problems, with a proven ability to prioritize high-leverage opportunities.
  • A bias to action and a proven track record of delivering iterative solutions to scale within a matrixed organization at rapid speed.
  • Ability to guide matrixed partner teams and collaborate across brands and organizations.
  • Ability to work as a team with designers and developers to deliver great products.
  • Comfortable working autonomously with a strong focus on execution and driving project deadlines to completion.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to use user research, data, and qualitative insights to create exceptional digital experiences.
  • Agile Mindset: Proficiency in Agile practices such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean; understanding of iterative development, sprints, and continuous improvement.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the latest web and mobile product technologies and user experience best practices.
  • Business acumen and financial P&L understanding.
  • Customer service-focused.
  • Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing multiple deadlines.
  • Success in developing strong working relationships across many layers of an organization, outside agencies, and suppliers.

Desired Experience

  • Managing the digital product development and delivery of direct-to-consumer web or mobile applications.
  • A passion for developing and growing a new services portfolio in an emerging industry.
  • Knowledge of standard automotive industry business processes.
  • German language skills (a plus).
  • Understanding of privacy, regulatory, cybersecurity, and technical aspects of data services/solutions.
  • Experience building digital products for multiple countries/markets, particularly eCommerce products.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered product development practices and user research best practices.
  • Familiarity and experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence for product user stories and Agile development.

Schedule

  • Full-time with flexible hours as required.
  • Travel approximately 10–20% as required.
