Digital Merchandising Manager
Position Summary
The Digital Merchandising Manager is responsible for owning and optimizing the digital product experience across all customer-facing channels. This role drives product discoverability, search performance, navigation, category experiences, recommendations, product placement, and digital merchandising strategies that improve customer engagement, conversion, average order value, customer retention, and eCommerce revenue growth.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Own digital merchandising strategies across all customer-facing digital channels, including featured products, category promotions, seasonal assortments, strategic product placement, searchandising, and recommendation experiences, while overseeing and supporting any print merchandising activities.
- Manage category landing page strategies, featured assortments, product placement, and browse experiences that support customer acquisition and conversion goals.
- Establish standards and governance for product relationships and recommendation experiences across the site.
- Build recommendation capabilities from the ground up by defining business rules, governance processes, customer experience standards, and success metrics.
- Develop and execute a long-term product recommendation strategy including co-view, related items, accessories, alternatives, substitutes, upsell, and cross-sell experiences.
- Own and maintain the customer-facing product hierarchy, category structure, and digital taxonomy across all eCommerce channels.
- Partner with Product Information teams to define, assign, and maintain category-level attribute frameworks that improve filtering, navigation, search, and discoverability.
- Optimize search, facets, filters, navigation, and browse experiences using customer behavior and performance analytics.
- Utilize customer behavior, search, merchandising, and sales analytics to identify growth opportunities and customer friction points.
- Lead testing and experimentation initiatives focused on improving discoverability, conversion, average order value, engagement, and revenue growth.
- Monitor KPIs related to search performance, category engagement, recommendation performance, conversion, average order value, customer retention, and revenue.
- Support website redesign, search optimization, personalization, recommendation, and digital transformation initiatives.
Education, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Merchandising, eCommerce, Analytics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in eCommerce, merchandising, category management, digital marketing, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of customer behavior, digital merchandising, search, navigation, taxonomy, filtering, and product discovery.
- Experience developing merchandising strategies that improve conversion, engagement, and revenue performance.
- Experience utilizing analytics and data to drive business decisions and prioritize opportunities.
- Ability to build new capabilities, processes, governance models, and merchandising programs from the ground up.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with search, recommendation, personalization, merchandising, or digital experience platforms.
- Experience working with taxonomy, product information, category structures, and attribute frameworks.
- Experience in B2B eCommerce, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Experience supporting website redesign, customer experience, or digital transformation initiatives.

Pay
$100,000/yr. Position Location: Hybrid schedule in Columbus, OH, or remote in the vicinity of Chicago, IL. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications.
