Primary Responsibilities
- Set up and operate digital machines according to job specifications, production schedules, and quality requirements.
- Load materials, inks, substrates, or components as required for each job.
- Review job orders, specifications, and instructions to ensure accuracy before production.
- Monitor equipment during operation and make adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.
- Conduct routine inspections of finished products to ensure alignment with quality standards.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and keep machinery in optimal working condition.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including production logs, quality checks, and inventory usage.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and safe material handling.
- Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance technicians, and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Absorb and assist with training new team members on digital equipment and processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior machine operation experience in a manufacturing, print, or digital production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, technical instructions, and production schedules.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Basic computer skills for equipment interfaces and production recordkeeping.
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating digital presses, or other automated digital production machinery.
- Knowledge of color management, digital file handling, or print workflow systems.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
