About the role

As a Senior in Governance, Risk, and Compliance, you will implement enterprise governance and compliance frameworks, identify control points for improvement, optimization, or automation, and liaise with operational risk teams to enhance compliance and operational efficiency. You will support the selection of compliance software and analyze data to guide automated compliance processes.

EY’s Life Sciences team designs and implements solutions for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and medical technology clients to address risks impacting organizational performance and patient safety. The Digital Lab Transformation Senior Consultant drives innovation and excellence in lab transformation strategy and lab systems implementation, requiring deep expertise in lab operations and the technical systems that support them (LIMS, ELN, LES, etc.), a proven track record of delivering LIMS implementations and modernizing lab operations, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive significant business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver one or more processes, solutions, and/or projects with a focus on quality and effective risk management
  • Drive continuous process improvement and identify innovative solutions through research and analysis
  • Guide others using depth of expertise; interpret internal/external issues to recommend quality solutions
  • Meet performance objectives and metrics set locally
  • Travel up to 70% as needed by external clients
  • Help clients design the operating model of their digital labs with operational excellence
  • Design processes for labs to deliver against overall Digital Transformation strategy
  • Design and deliver clear data strategies to move clients to more agile operating models
  • Formulate technical solution designs and lead conversations for Life Sciences clients
  • Understand client needs, architect transformative solutions with process owners, and simplify complex implementations
  • Develop solutions to complex problems and recommend policy changes
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Manage engagement economics and resource planning
  • Collaborate with clients to oversee program management activities related to Digital Lab Transformations
  • Provide strategic expertise on business case and transformation strategies
  • Help clients determine financial plans and budgeting to optimize costs with Digital Labs
  • Lead a diverse team of professionals; responsible for coaching, leadership, and career development
  • Translate complex requirements into actionable insights for C-suite and Director-level stakeholders
  • Serve as a technical authority on LIMS architecture, championing change within clients
  • Orchestrate execution of Digital Lab Transformation projects with precision, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, deadlines, and quality benchmarks
  • Maintain expert-level understanding of industry-specific trends and technology advancements to inform strategic solution architecture within the digital labs space
  • Work on teams to consistently deliver quality client services by demonstrating in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge while maintaining long-term client relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Biomedical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
  • 3+ years of Life Sciences work experience, including working with Life Science regulatory statutes, GxP business processes, compliance programs, or integration of risk management functions
  • 3–5 years relevant experience with LIMS systems, Electronic Lab Notebook systems (ELN), and/or Lab Automation Systems
  • Programming ability (Python, LabWare LIMS Basic, SQL)
  • Instrument integration (file/API connections)
  • Enterprise systems integration (ERP, ELN, middleware, cloud apps)
  • Experience implementing LabWare or LabVantage LIMS systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills

Pay

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $93,600 to $154,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $112,400 to $175,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.

Schedule

Team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Expectation for most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 40–60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
