About the role

EY’s Life Sciences Transformation practice supports biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and medical technology organizations as they modernize laboratory and quality operations while managing regulatory risk and accelerating business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Leading laboratory transformation workstreams, including digital lab modernization initiatives, LIMS implementations, and laboratory operating model and process redesign across R&D, QC, and manufacturing labs
  • Translating client objectives into detailed delivery plans, requirements, and execution roadmaps focused on laboratory operations and technology enablement
  • Managing day-to-day delivery across lab-focused workstreams, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality expectations are met
  • Integrating quality, regulatory, and computer systems validation considerations into laboratory solutions in partnership with SMEs, ensuring solutions are compliant without over-engineering
  • Serving as a primary client contact at the manager and director level, facilitating working sessions, status updates, and issue resolution
  • Leading and coaching consultants and senior consultants, providing direction, feedback, and development support
  • Supporting business development and account activities, including proposal development, client presentations, and contribution to laboratory transformation offerings and assets

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of Life Sciences experience, with a strong emphasis on laboratory operations, lab systems, or lab transformation initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience leading project workstreams or components of larger programs in consulting or industry
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS, ELN, LES) and/or lab data and integration platforms
  • Foundational knowledge of computer systems validation, data integrity, and regulatory expectations for laboratory environments

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading laboratory-focused transformation workstreams in Life Sciences environments
  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations, lab workflows, and digital lab technologies (e.g., LIMS, LES, ELN, lab data platforms)
  • Working knowledge of quality, regulatory, and validation requirements as they apply to laboratory systems and processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to bridge lab, IT, and business stakeholders
  • Experience managing delivery risk, dependencies, and trade-offs within complex programs
  • Ability to balance innovation, usability, and compliance in GxP-regulated laboratory environments
  • Commitment to developing junior team members and contributing to a collaborative team culture
  • Curiosity and interest in emerging laboratory technologies and trends within Life Sciences

At EY, we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $114,800 to $210,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $137,900 to $239,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.

Pay

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $114,800 to $210,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $137,900 to $239,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Schedule

We expect most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
