About the role
The Digital Enterprise (DE) Design Disclosure Engineer supports existing programs by enhancing processes, particularly focusing on Electric Boats capability to deliver design disclosure information.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Technical Authority (TA) Core Team in working on initiatives to improve the Design Disclosure development and delivery process.
- Drives efficiency in the Design Disclosure value stream by developing and tracking tool updates, testing, processes, and training.
- Aids in resolving issues raised by Design Disclosure Discipline leads and downstream functional areas.
- Identifies areas of improvement by evaluating Metrics for Design Disclosure Task progress and ITCR development.
- Communicates and provides training on updated processes and software changes.
- Supports and coordinates business case development for new Design Disclosure Digital Enterprise tasking improvements.
- Provides recommendations and insights for future program Design Disclosure development and processes based on lessons learned.
- Investigates and tests upcoming software and/or process changes related to upgrading software systems.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Software, Industrial, Systems, Chemical, Process Improvement, or Computer Engineering, with 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
- Prior experience in Teamcenter and/or NX applications, and CATIA software.
- Experience in requirements development.
Skills
- High level working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter and NX.
- Facilitation skills: leading brainstorming sessions, team meetings, and cross-discipline discussions.
- Project management skills: managing to established dates and schedules, estimating and scheduling new task development.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Design Disclosure Digital Enterprise (DE) processes & tools.
- Understanding of Design Disclosure development process from concept through disclosure delivery.
- Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics.
- Experience with Lean improvement tools such as SIPOC and process mapping.
- Background with implementing improvements into software systems and procedures.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Innovative and persistent personality.
