About the Role
The Geography and Map Division is offering an opportunity for a qualified individual at the GS-08 grade level to serve on a full-time temporary promotion or a qualified GS-09 level to serve on a full-time, 120-day detail (no promotion) as a Reference Librarian in the Research Access and Collection Development Section of the Geography and Map Division (G&M). Applicants must have one year time-in-grade at their current level.
Responsibilities
- Provide reference services for the Geography and Map Division’s collections.
- Assist patrons with non-routine questions regarding access, handling, and use of cartographic materials.
- Support research and access to specialized geographic and cartographic resources.

About the Role
The Business Enterprises Division is offering a qualified individual at the GS-05 level an opportunity to serve on a full-time, 120-day detail as a Senior Sales Counter Attendant in the Retail Shop within the Business Enterprises Division, Library Enterprises.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a public-facing presence for the Library of Congress, delivering excellent customer service to all visitors to the Retail Store.
- Perform register sales transactions quickly and accurately.
- Assist customers with purchases, inquiries, and product information.
- Maintain store appearance, restock merchandise, and handle cash and credit transactions.
