Digital Content Creator

About the role

The NYC Department of Design and Construction seeks a Digital Content Creator to join their Creative Services unit. This position involves working on projects from concept development to implementation, focusing on creating engaging and informative social media content. The ideal candidate should have experience in motion graphics, typography, and photography, and be adept at facilitating discussions and converting them into content.

Responsibilities

• Create social media content that is engaging and informative.
• Work on projects from concept development to implementation.
• Shoot and edit vertical videos.
• Facilitate interesting discussions with both experts and non-experts.
• Conceptualize and initiate graphic art projects.
• Have photography skills (a plus).

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in fine or graphic arts from an accredited college with one year of full-time paid experience as a commercial or graphic artist.
• A four-year high school diploma or equivalent with two years of training in a technical school approved by a state’s Department of Education or comparable governmental agency, in fine arts, plus three years of acceptable full-time paid experience as a commercial or graphic artist.
• At least one year of experience as a Graphic Artist, Assignment Level I, or the Qualification Requirements described in "1" or "2" above, plus two additional years of acceptable specialized paid experience conceptualizing and initiating graphic art projects.
