About the role
At One River School, we believe digital art is one of the most powerful creative languages of our time. We're looking for innovative, tech-savvy artists and educators to guide students in grades 3–12 through the evolving world of digital creation—from foundational skills to portfolio-level work.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging weekly digital art classes for students in grades 3–12
- Guide students in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate), Moho, digital drawing tablets, graphic design, digital illustration, animation, or related platforms
- Support middle and high school students in developing portfolio-quality work
- Introduce creative problem-solving, visual storytelling, and design thinking
- Foster a studio culture that encourages experimentation, critique, and growth
- Communicate thoughtfully with families about student progress and creative development
Requirements
- A practicing digital artist, designer, illustrator, animator, or creative technologist
- Experienced teaching students in a digital lab setting (1+ year preferred)
- Comfortable working with a range of ages from upper elementary through high school
- Skilled in digital platforms and current industry tools
- Passionate about helping students build both technical skill and creative confidence
- Engaging, organized, and student-centered
Qualifications
- BFA or BS in Digital Art, Graphic Design, Animation, Art Education, or related field required
- MFA or Master’s degree is a plus
