Work Schedule

This role has the potential to be a hybrid position (on-site at Springfield, and Work from Home)

Duties

• Consults with and instructs clients with complex nutritional deficiencies, determining extent and duration of diet therapy and instructs clients and clients' families in appropriate diet upon discharge.
• Reviews and interprets physician prescribed diets, calculates special diets, writes nutritional care plans, and evaluates and documents clients' response to diet therapy.
• Interviews clients with complex nutritional deficiencies, determines suitability for treatment and prepares written evaluations of clients' nutritional state.
• Confers with physicians and nursing personnel in order to clarify orders, recommend appropriate diet treatments and exchange client information.
• Makes recommendations regarding development of master general menu as well as departmental policies and procedures.
• Attends and contributes to client care meetings and conferences with physicians, nurses and other personnel in order to promote and ensure proper dietary care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or a closely related field required
• Current Dietician Nutritionist licensure (LDN) active in the state of Illinois
• General knowledge of the physical, cognitive and psychosocial functioning level of the client population; and the demonstrated ability to appropriately interact, tailor interventions, and communicate with the client based on the individual client maturation level.
• The ability to analyze information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to communicate orally.
• Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.

Compensation

Range begins at $24.74 - $39.58 per hour
Gateway Foundation conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
