Join our Dietary Team at Sumter Health & Rehabilitation in York, AL. We are seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious, appetizing meals and help create a positive dining experience for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
- Prepare meals for residents with regular, modified, and therapeutic diets.
- Follow resident diet orders, food allergies, and dietary restrictions accurately.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served at appropriate temperatures.
- Assist with meal preparation, plating, and food service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and proper food-handling procedures.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
- Assist with cleaning dishes, equipment, and work areas as needed.
- Work collaboratively with dietary, nursing, and other departments to meet resident needs.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
- Healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, restaurant, institutional, or commercial kitchen experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and food safety practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, menus, diet instructions, and portion guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing excellent service to residents.
