Dietary Clerk PRN
Job Summary
As a Diet Clerk, you will prepare dietary information for use by kitchen personnel in preparation of foods for hospital patients. Your responsibilities include examining diet orders and menus, processing new diets and changes, generating and editing tray tickets, assembling tray ticket packets, entering data into a computer, modifying diets according to standards set by a Dietitian, answering telephone calls, relaying information about meal changes, complaints, or patient discharge to Supervisors or Dietitians, preparing and delivering formulas and special nourishments to unit pantries, and ensuring tray line/tray accuracy for timely and accurate patient service.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by course work in nutrition
- Two years of experience in food service operations
- Computer experience is preferred
- Experience and education may be substituted for one another
- A Food Handlers permit must be obtained within the first two weeks of hire date
