Dietary Associate - Food Service Worker / Intermittent

About the role

This intermittent Food Services Worker position at the Minnesota Veterans Home-Fergus Falls involves routine work in the preparation and service of food. Intermittent employees work an irregular and uncertain schedule as agency needs require, must be available to work all shifts and some weekends, and are not initially eligible for health care benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple cooking on a large scale
• Plan and prepare small meals on a household scale
• Perform simple cleaning and food service tasks
• Follow instructions
• Prep, plate, and serve food (preferred)

Requirements

• Knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing food
• Care and use of cooking utensils and equipment
• Understanding of food values and nutrition
• Successful completion of a Minnesota Department of Human Services background check
• Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening or chest x‑ray prior to employment
• Employment reference checks

Qualifications

• Food service related experience with prepping, plating, and serving food (preferred)
• Knowledge of basic sanitation standards (preferred)
• ServSafe Food Certificate (preferred)
