About the role
The Dietary Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting patients with their dietary needs, collaborating with dietitians, and ensuring that all patients' dietary requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Distributes, collects, and corrects patient menus weekly
- Updates patient menus and meal plans as directed by Clinical Dietitians
- Meets with patients one-on-one to support with menu completion as needed
- Completes documentation for meal support or groups as required
- Sets up and supports patient meals, snacks, and restaurant outings as needed
- Completes projects as directed by members of the Dietary Team
- Shops for groceries and orders food (will vary by location)
- Supports Clinical Dietitians in preparing for nutrition and cooking groups
- Collaborates with Food Service team to ensure all patients' dietary needs are met, including monitoring for food allergens
- Collects and analyzes patient data as related to dietary department
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Experience working in the mental health and/or nutrition field (preferred)
