Responsibilities
- Assure adherence to food preparation and sanitation practices in a safe environment.
- Ensure residents are served the diet prescribed by their physicians according to the menu of the day.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Dietary Services.
Essential Functions
- Communicate effectively with residents and staff in English.
- Read and write English.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
- Visual observation of residents, ability to hear emergency systems and verbal needs.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring turning, stooping, bending, stretching, standing for prolonged periods, using equipment competently, responding to emergencies, and wearing appropriate protective equipment.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply standards of sanitary food preparation.
- Completion of required annual TB testing and health assessment.
- Availability for occasional outdoor work at resident cookouts.
- Competence in the use of food preparation equipment such as slicer, grinder, mixer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, stove, coffee maker, etc.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Two years experience in the food service industry preferred.

Pay
The pay range for this opportunity is $16.00 - $16.30 per hour.
