Dietary and Food Aide
Summary
Assists in the food preparation and serving of meals to individuals receiving services, maintains and cleans the kitchen and dining area, and provides assistance in a manner that supports the personal dignity of the individuals.
Essential Job Functions
- Learns standard dietary practices and skills through active on-the-job training under more experienced staff.
- Prepares all menu items using established departmental policies and procedures.
- Affirms presentation and preparation of all menu items adhere to established standards, procedures and policies.
- Develops and maintains adequate food/supplies, orders as required.
- Maintains appearance of all equipment and serving utensils.
- Maintains cleanliness of kitchen area on an ongoing basis.
- Reports any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and incidents to supervisor.
- Adheres to policy requiring the timely reporting of individual receiving services and/or employee injuries evidenced by his/her attendance at orientation and annual mandatory education programs.
- Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding individuals' rights.
- Promotes independence, choice, and empowerment of individuals receiving services and treats individuals with dignity and respect.
- Performs other related duties and activities as required.

- Education And Experience: High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements
Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
