Dietary Aides/Wait Staff

About the role

A Server at our Greensboro location courteously serves resident and guest meals, ensures clean-up and resetting of the dining room following meal service, and supports a positive dining experience for all.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents when placing orders from the menu
• Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk, and coffee/tea)
• Refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls prior to and after each meal
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
• Understand sit-down service and proper serving techniques
• Perform basic food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.)
• Follow proper food storage and labeling techniques
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room areas
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings
• Complete all other assigned duties
• Attend to special resident needs, including mobility deficits and memory impairment
• Assist with tray service
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information
• Interact politely and considerately with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors

Requirements

• Wear a clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene
• Able to read and follow simple instructions
• Ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks
• Able to learn quickly and apply learned principles
• Able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision
• Able to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects
• Able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three hours at a time
• Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and carry heavy objects for 20 feet
• Organized and willing to work well with other team members
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
