Dietary Aides/Wait Staff

Responsibilities

• Courteously serve resident and guest meals, and clean‑up and reset the dining room after service.
• Assist residents when placing orders from the menu.
• Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk, coffee/tea).
• Refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls before and after each meal.
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to the supervisor.
• Understand sit‑down service and proper serving techniques.
• Basic food preparation knowledge (salads, desserts, etc.).
• Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum the kitchen and dining room.
• Attend required in‑services and staff meetings.
• Complete all other duties assigned.
• Attend to special needs of residents, including mobility deficits and memory impairment.
• Assist with tray service.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Interact politely and considerately with residents, guests, co‑workers, and supervisors.

Requirements

• Wear a clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene.
• Read and follow simple instructions.
• Perform simple, repetitive tasks.
• Learn quickly and apply learned principles.
• Communicate effectively and work under close supervision.
• Bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects.
• Stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time.
• Lift 50 lb regularly and carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
• Be organized and work well with team members.
• Be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
