Dietary Aide - Server - Assisted Living
About the role
The Dietary Aide - Server assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department. Responsibilities include preparing food, serving meals, snacks, and beverages, ensuring proper diet and food preferences, maintaining cleanliness, and reporting equipment issues.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of food and serves meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and sanitation practices.
- Serves meals to resident rooms or tables and sets up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards.
- Ensures residents receive proper diet and food preferences in a timely manner.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, and dining room, including proper storage and rotation of food.
- Cleans utensils, dishes, and pots and pans using the dishwasher or proper handwashing processes.
- Records and reports the temperature of the dishwasher and equipment.
- Partners with dietary staff to ensure equipment is functioning properly and at the appropriate temperature.
- Greets residents, visitors, and staff courteously, ensuring a respectful and dignified environment.
- Resets the dining room for the next meal and ensures supplies are available.
- Assists in storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
- Attends and participates in training, in-services, and staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a Food Handler Permit as required by the State.
- Some High School education preferred.
