About the role
The Dietary Aide - Server assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department. Essential duties include serving meals, snacks, and beverages, ensuring proper diet and food preferences, maintaining cleanliness, and reporting equipment issues.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of food and serves meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and sanitation practices.
- Serves meals to resident rooms or tables and sets up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards.
- Ensures residents receive proper diet and food preferences in a timely manner.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining room, and equipment.
- Cleans utensils, dishes, and pots and pans using the dishwasher or proper handwashing processes.
- Records and discards outdated food, and ensures proper storage and preparation of food.
- Partners with dietary staff to maintain equipment and report any faulty equipment.
- Follows fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical practices, and reports unsafe conditions.
- Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously, and resets the dining room for the next meal.
- Assists in storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
- Attends and participates in training, in-services, and staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a Food Handler Permit as required by the State.
- Some High School education preferred.
