Dietary Aide - Server - Assisted Living
About the role
The Dietary Aide - Server assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department. Essential duties include serving meals, snacks, and beverages, ensuring proper diet and food preferences, maintaining cleanliness, and reporting equipment issues.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of food and serves meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and sanitation practices.
- Serves meals to resident rooms or tables and sets up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards.
- Ensures residents receive proper diet and food preferences in a timely manner.
- Maintains kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining room cleanliness and sanitation.
- Cleans utensils, dishes, and pots and pans by operating the dishwasher or handwashing.
- Records and checks the temperature of the dishwasher and equipment.
- Stores food properly and discards outdated items.
- Partners with dietary staff to ensure equipment is functioning correctly and at the right temperature.
- Reports faulty equipment immediately.
- Greets residents, visitors, and staff courteously, ensuring dignity and confidentiality.
- Resets the dining room for the next meal and ensures supplies are available.
- Assists in storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
- Attends and participates in training, in-services, and staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a Food Handler Permit as required by the State.
- Some High School education preferred.
