Dietary Aide (Part Time) - Iler Lodge (Long Term Care)

About the role

The Dietary Aide supports meal services in Residence/Home under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services or Dietary Manager.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests professionally and courteously;
• Assist with setting up and preparing for meal service;
• Set and clear dining tables, deliver tray service as needed;
• Clean dishware, cutlery after each seating;
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area;
• Assist with catering and special events;
• Support the orientation and training of new employees;
• Follow health and safety legislation, departmental procedures;
• Comply with provincial regulations and department policies;
• Respect and promote Resident Rights & Responsibilities;
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings;
• Participate in Quality Improvement Program;
• Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults;
• Uphold and promote Extendicare’s values and Code of Conduct;
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's Certificate;
• Previous experience in food service industry, especially with seniors preferred;
• Enrolled in or completed Food Service Worker Training Program;
• Excellent customer service skills;
• Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy, hot items, standing/walking most of the shift;
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset;
• Provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Pay

$19.05 - $23.71 per hour
