Responsibilities
- Prepare beverages, fruits, salads, desserts, and assist with additional food preparation as needed.
- Set up dining room tables for meal service.
- Accurately follow resident menus when preparing room trays and/or serving in the dining room.
- Take tableside meal orders and deliver food to residents in an organized, timely, and courteous manner.
- When appropriate, offer available options to exceed resident expectations.
- Deliver nourishments to resident units as required.
- Deliver food carts to designated locations and ensure carts are returned to the kitchen.
- Collect and dispose of trash and garbage in designated containers.
- Clean work areas, dining rooms, equipment, walls, cabinets, storage areas, and other assigned spaces in accordance with established procedures.
- Wash dishes, cookware, flatware, and trays using approved sanitation procedures.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact tactfully and respectfully with individuals of varying ages, cultures, needs, abilities, and physical conditions.
- Demonstrates care, compassion, dignity, and respect when serving residents.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
