Dietary Aide (Part Time)

Responsibilities

• Assist with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the supervisor.
• Assist cooks as directed by the supervisor.
• Prepare and label nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepare and portion desserts, salads and other non‑entre foods into dishes; pour beverages.
• Follow production sheets and pre‑preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
• Complete pre‑preparation as needed or assigned, including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits; slice meat and measure or weigh for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Follow the cleaning schedule; clean equipment and work area after each use; sweep and mop kitchen floors as assigned; take trash to dumpster as assigned; wash pots and pans as assigned.
• Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
• Wash dishes and silverware according to dishwashing procedure; put clean dishes and silverware away; assist with cleaning of equipment, dishes, silverware and kitchen as assigned.
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year’s work in a large‑scale cooking operation (preferred).
