Dietary Aide (Part-Time)

Responsibilities

• Aid in the delivery of nutritional services to the residents.
• Check and stock the nourishment station on assigned floor.
• Obtain prepared nourishment labels from the dietary office and prepare sandwiches and other items for residents as specified.
• Deliver nourishments to respective floors at specific times as indicated on labels.
• Secure and obtain dishes, cups, bowls, silverware, trays and tray trucks from the kitchen.
• Assemble food items (bread, dessert, condiments) on the tray as specified on the diet card.
• Place diet card on tray.
• Dishes out and portions out hot and cold food from trayline onto the patients tray.
• Assists in the delivery of completed trays to each resident.
• Assists in tray preparation as appropriate, including buttering bread, pouring sugar into tea/coffee, cutting meat, etc.
• Collect trays and disassemble, scrape food into garbage cans and return tray trucks, cups, bowls, silverware to dishroom.
• Assists in the preparation and service of nourishments to residents and visitors during activity functions.
• Wraps silverware.
• Makes desserts and resident special plates.
• Serve lunch and dinner in staff dining room as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma required.
• Able to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
