Dietary Aide, Part-time
About the role
A Dietary Aide (Nutrition Aide) prepares and delivers healthy meals, ensuring patients receive proper foods based on their dietary needs. They work closely with Dietitians to address allergies or restrictions and create appropriate meal plans. The role involves adhering to safety and health standards, communicating effectively with patients and medical professionals, and supporting patients' nutritional needs throughout the day under the guidance of a lead Dietitian or Chef.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service under the guidance of the Chef or Dietitian.
- Deliver dishes and trays to designated rooms at scheduled times.
- Set up and clear dining areas, ensuring cleanliness and order, including dish, tray, trash, and leftover removal.
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and Senior Living/Healthcare requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness of prep items and follow cleaning schedules.
- Perform cleaning duties as scheduled or needed.
- Provide customer service and hospitality during nutrition delivery.
Requirements
- High school diploma (required).
- Current Food Handler’s Permit (required).
- Training in ServSafe (beneficial).
- One (1) year of food service experience, including serving/waiting tables, cleaning, kitchen sanitation, and basic food/meal prep (preferred).

- Ability to work collaboratively with employees, residents, families, visitors, vendors, healthcare professionals, and the community.
Physical Requirements
- May be required to lift or carry equipment or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pulling/pushing, and extended periods of walking and/or standing.
- May require standing, sitting, twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, or crouching.
- Adequate sight and hearing to meet job responsibilities.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $16.06 - $20.88 per hour. Factors influencing pay include job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal/external equity considerations.
