Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is an acute psychiatric and behavioral 90-bed facility located on 8.8 acres in Bakersfield, California. We provide inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents, and adults with mental/behavioral health needs, chemical dependency, and co-occurring disorders, including medically supervised detoxification. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Food Handler’s certification
• Previous experience in a hospital or large facility kitchen or as a Dietary Aide in a mental healthcare hospital setting is preferred; at least one year of experience is ideal
• Strong kitchen safety skills and ability to meet strict serving schedules
• Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions for prepackaged products
• Proficiency in reading, converting, and adjusting mathematical measurements for recipe changes and development
• Experience using commercial kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and dishwashers
• Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
• Completion of “Handle-With-Care” Physical Restraint Technique Training during orientation

Pay

$23.00 per hour starting wage with automatic annual merit increases.
