The Dietary Aide Opportunity
The Dietary Aide supports the Food Services department by preparing and serving meals that meet residents’ dietary needs, ensuring proper sanitation and safety, and maintaining clean and organized work areas. This role exists to provide resident-centered dining service and contributes to the overall health and well-being of residents by following prescribed menus, therapeutic diets, and food safety regulations.
Compensation And Benefits
Starting pay $15.18 to $16.53 per hour, based on experience, plus $1.50 shift differential for any hours worked between 2:00pm and 10:00pm. Full time positions available. Shift is 7:00am - 3:30pm, with options for weekdays, weeknights, every other weekend, and holidays. What You’ll Do
- Assemble and serve prepared food for general and therapeutic diets, following meal tickets, menus, and portion requirements
- Distribute meals to residents, patients, clients, bistro customers and cafeteria customers in a respectful and courteous manner, recording meal intakes when required
- Restock food and beverages in units and kitchenettes, ensuring all items are dated and rotated properly
- Disassemble trays and prepare dishes, utensils, and equipment for washing; operate and monitor the dish machine, ensuring proper sanitation and temperature ranges are met
- Wash pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment; complete special cleaning duties according to daily assignments
- Take and record food, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures before and after meal service and report concerns promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food prep, service, and dining areas; dispose of trash and mop floors as needed
- Interact with cooks, CNAs, and hospitality aides to ensure smooth communication about menus, serving needs, and resident satisfaction
- Adhere to safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures while performing duties
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance; follow scheduled work hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
