Dietary Aide/Dishwasher

About the role

NHC HealthCare Somerville is seeking a Part-Time Dietary Aide/Dishwasher to join their Food and Nutrition Services/Dietary team. The position involves maintaining high standards of quality food preparation, production, and service under the guidance of the Dietary Manager and Registered Dietitian.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the kitchen and dining room.
• Prepare and serve meals to residents in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist with meal planning and ordering, ensuring compliance with dietary guidelines.
• Handle inventory and manage supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors to provide excellent customer service.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in food service and nutrition.

Requirements

• Sincere interest in foodservice and a passion for serving geriatric and other healthcare patients.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
