Bring comfort to the table. As a Dietary Aide (3-10hour shifts), you’ll help serve meals that support healing and well-being for our patients, residents, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals, snacks, and beverages following specific guidelines.
- Serve meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are always followed.
- Take inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
- Clarify unclear or missing diet orders with nursing staff.
- Assist with room delivery service as needed, including assembling patient trays, loading carts, and delivering meals to patients and residents.
- Check accuracy of meal tray against patient and resident menu selections.
- Assist cooks and other staff with dishes as needed throughout shift.
- Utilize good communication skills to maintain positive relationships with patients, residents, providers, co-workers, and other sections in the organization and with other facilities in the community.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with medical staff and other departments to ensure efficiency as needed.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and other assigned meetings.
- Adhere to accreditation and compliance standard guidelines.
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Assist visitors with directions whenever requested.
- Always introduce self to patients, residents, families, and visitors when appropriate.
- Report on safety hazards as appropriate.
- Replenish supplies as needed.
- Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions, and Isolation Precautions.
- Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties.
- Observe safety precautions.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Read and understand equipment operation manuals.
- Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations, and interdepartmental objectives.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, training, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops; show responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing education and learning.
- Assist in keeping kitchen and other dietary areas clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout shift.
- Keep all temperature and supplement logs up to date as required.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Exceptional knowledge of dietary terminology and processes or the ability to learn and retain.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Physical Requirements and Conditions
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
- Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.

Pay
$16.00/hour to start depending on experience.
