Responsibilities

• Assist with food ordering, storage, and preparation as designated by the supervisor.
• Assist cooks as directed by the supervisor.
• Prepare and label nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepare and portion desserts, salads, and other non-entre foods into dishes; pour beverages.
• Follow production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
• Complete pre-preparation tasks including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits; slice meat and measure or weigh for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Follow the cleaning schedule; clean equipment and work area after each use; sweep and mop kitchen floors as assigned; take trash to dumpster as assigned; wash pots and pans as assigned.
• Maintain an attractive and sanitary dining room, meal service, and delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year’s work in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred.
