Dietary Aide

Responsibilities

• Upkeep of department and related areas, including hand sinks, floors, trash, dishes, pots, pans, walls, and equipment like refrigerators and freezers.
• Completes individual task assignments at appropriate times.
• Assists with assembly of items for pantry service.
• Serves hot and/or cold foods at meal times.
• Delivers and retrieves tray carts from floors.
• Sorts and washes all dishes and flatware from dining rooms and residents' rooms, using proper infection control procedures.
• Sorts, scrubs, and sanitizes all pots and pans, using proper infection control procedures.
• Fulfills directives on placement of clean dishes, utensils, and pans.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of dish-room, utility room, and pot/pan room, ensuring no standing water.
• May prepare salads and desserts for meal service.
• Performs simple food prep as assigned by supervisor on duty.
• Prepares and delivers nourishments and snacks to nursing units.
• Delivers appropriate bulk meal items to pantries and staff dining rooms.
• Keeps pantries and storerooms stocked and in order.
• Adheres to all regulatory sanitation guidelines.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.
• Follows all safety rules.

Qualifications

• Able to follow written and verbal directions.
• One (1) year food service-related utility work experience preferred.
