Dietary Aide

Responsibilities

• Maintain upkeep of department and related areas, including hand sinks, floors, trash, dishes, pots, pans, walls, and all equipment such as refrigerators and freezers.
• Follow individual task assignments to ensure proper completion at appropriate times.
• Assist with assembly of items for pantry service.
• Serve hot and/or cold foods at meal times.
• Deliver and retrieve tray carts from floors.
• Sort and wash all dishes and flatware from dining rooms and residents' rooms, utilizing proper infection control procedures.
• Sort, scrub, and sanitize all pots and pans, utilizing proper infection control procedures.
• Follow directives on placement of clean dish, utensil, and pan storage.
• Keep dish-room, utility room, and pot/pan room clean, orderly, and free from standing water.
• Prepare salads and desserts for meal service as needed.
• Perform simple food prep as assigned by supervisor on duty.
• Prepare and deliver nourishments and snacks to nursing units.
• Deliver appropriate bulk meal items to pantries and staff dining rooms.
• Keep pantries and storerooms stocked and in order.
• Adhere to all regulatory sanitation guidelines.
• Perform related tasks as assigned.
• Follow all safety rules.

Requirements

• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
• One (1) year of food service-related utility work preferred.
