Dietary Aide

About the role

At River's Edge, we are dedicated to creating a positive work environment and enhancing the lives of our staff through various programs such as the weekly "Thankful Thursday" event and monthly gift giveaways.

Responsibilities

• Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty;
• Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures;
• Aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment;
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor;
• Serve in dining rooms;
• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed;
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures;
• Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor;
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
• Performs related work as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and understand directions in English language;
• Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.

Skills

• Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food;
• Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling;
• Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public;
• Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
