Job Summary
Preferred Care at Absecon is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in the preparation and service of meals to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Cook in the preparation and service of meals
- Place prepared food on plates/trays in accordance with tray tickets, following established policies and procedures
- Prepare and deliver food and trays, wash dishes, and clean and sanitize kitchen areas according to health standards
- Maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance and a positive attitude
- Absorb and deliver meals to patients, ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction
Qualifications
- Specialized training in food service is desirable; may be required to successfully complete an approved sanitation and safety course
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English, follow directions, and complete tasks
- Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving
- General knowledge and understanding of nutrition
- Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards
- Written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements, and procedures
