Dietary Aide

Pavilion on Main Street is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their team in a collectively bargained, union position.

Responsibilities

• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Cleans tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweeps and mops floors as directed
• Carries soiled utensils to wash area and returns clean utensils to proper storage areas
• Washes and cleans utensils as directed
• Keeps work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment or supplies
• Sets up meal trays, food carts, and dining room as instructed
• Assists cook in preparing meals and obtaining food supplies for the following meal
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be able to read and understand resident tray cards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to learn to load and operate an industrial diswasher within one week
• Ability to follow sanitation processes and maintain cleanliness standards
• Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and kitchen sanitation preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• Experience in industrial food production preferred
• Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus

Physical Requirements

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling (with or without mechanical aids)
• Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures
• Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards
• Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required
