Dietary Aide

About the role

The Dietary Aide under the direct supervision of the Food Service Supervisor performs a variety of patient food service, cafeteria food service, and dish room duties, as well as catered tasks and other related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assembles/packages/plates prepared food for general and/or therapeutic diets.
• Cleans kitchen areas and kitchen equipment.
• Delivers trays to patients in their rooms and assists with tray set up if needed.
• Delivers and returns food/supply carts to various areas of the facility.
• Cash register duties.
• Works in the dish room scrapping, loading, and catching dishes from the dish machine.
• Mops floors as needed and cleans walk-in storage areas and refrigerators.
• Serves prepared food to cafeteria customers.
• Delivers/sets/serves catered events.
• Other tasks in the kitchen as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Must be able to communicate effectively via written and spoken word.
• Must be able to perform simple cash transactions.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred but is not required.
• Food service experience preferred.
