About the role
The Dietary Aide at NHC Anderson is responsible for performing various duties associated with the production and service of patient meals. This includes food preparation and cooking, adhering to therapeutic and modified diets, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve patient meals according to therapeutic and modified diets
- Follow oral and/or written instructions
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Work cooperatively and productively with all partners in dietary and in all departments
- Be in good mental and physical condition
- May be required to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course
Requirements
- Sincere interest in food service and enjoyment of working with geriatric and other healthcare patients
- Food preparation and cooking skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks daily
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions
- Ability to speak and understand English
- Ability to read and/or understand labels on chemicals and MSDS sheets
- Ability to work under supervision
Qualifications
- Must be in good mental and physical condition
- Must be able to work cooperatively and productively with all partners in dietary and in all departments
- Must be willing to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
- Must be at work on time and during scheduled shift
