A Day in the Life of a Dietary Aide

You play a vital role in our community. Without you, we would not be able to provide quality service in delivering meals to our residents!

• Assist in preparing and serving meals to our residents
• Start with carefully setting up trays and serving regular meals
• Prepare snack items and food requests for special events
• Deliver a high level of customer service by distributing food in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual resident meals according to specified diet orders and an approved menu
• Ensure the quality and temperature of food items
• Deliver and retrieve trays by the end of meal dining time
• Wash dishes
• Pick up food and trash, clean tables, chairs, and other food service equipment and utensils
• Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations, maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures
• Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and your colleagues
• Take pride in the difference you make in the lives of our residents

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements and follow written and oral instructions
• No experience required. A willingness to learn is needed
• Solid communication skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate resident needs
• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors and team members
• Experience in a geriatric nursing facility is preferred but not required

Work Schedule

This dietary position works Part-Time 4 days on and 2 days off rotation.
