A Day in the Life of a Dietary Aide
You play a vital role in our community. Without you, we would not be able to provide quality service in delivering meals to our residents!
- Assist in preparing and serving meals to our residents
- Prepare snack items and food requests for special events
- Distribute food in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual resident meals according to specified diet orders and an approved menu
- Ensure the quality and temperature of food items
- Deliver and retrieve trays by the end of meal dining time
- Wash dishes
- Pick up food and trash, clean tables, chairs, and other food service equipment and utensils
- Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations, maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures
- Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and your colleagues
Qualifications
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements and follow written and oral instructions
- No experience required. A willingness to learn is needed
- Solid communication skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate resident needs
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors and team members
- Experience in a geriatric nursing facility is preferred but not required

Work Schedule
This full-time dietary position works days, evenings and weekends.
