Dietary Aide

Essential Functions

• Aid in meal preparation, service, and delivery.
• Use portion control procedures during meal preparation and service.
• Perform daily or scheduled cleaning duties such as work areas, tables, appliances, and floors.
• Wash and clean dishes and utensils, gather soiled items, and store clean items properly.
• Distribute and collect menus, check trays for completeness and accuracy, and distribute to residents.
• Follow established Standards, Precautions, and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintain resident confidentiality, treat residents kindly, and comply with Residents’ Rights rules.
• Report resident complaints and grievances to the Food Service Director promptly.
• Dispose of food and waste according to established policies and procedures.
• Wear protective clothing and equipment when handling infectious waste and/or blood and body fluids.
• Store raw and leftover foods properly and obtain food supplies for next meals.
• Report hazardous conditions, accidents, and incidents to the Food Service Director and/or the Executive Director.
• Assist the Food Service Director and implement recommended changes as required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must possess patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards the elderly.
• Must have upper body strength sufficient for bending, lifting, shifting, moving articles weighing more than twenty-five pounds.
• Must be able to squat, reach, stretch, and stand for extended periods.
