Dietary Aide

About the role

River Crossing Rehab & Healthcare is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining room. This position offers advancement opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare dining rooms and tables
• Provide meal service to residents
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas
• Deliver meals to resident rooms at designated times
• Set up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order
• Maintain clean dining areas & dishes using appropriate procedures
• Discard leftovers & empty trash
• Understand and follow color coding and abbreviations of tray cards and therapeutic menus
• Absorb and follow directions from the Cook and Dietary Manager
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory
• Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances
• Attend all mandatory in-services, educational trainings and department meetings

Requirements

• Friendly with good communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents
• Ability to read
• Meet physical demands – stand, sit, walk extended lengths of time, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
• Food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines a plus
• Must have Hip A Vaccination
