Dietary Aide

Responsibilities

• Set up and assemble resident meal trays according to diet cards and menus
• Deliver meal trays to nursing units and retrieve trays after meals
• Absorb food items, snacks, and supplements as directed
• Prepare items for medication passes as scheduled
• Break down trays, operate dishwashing equipment, and properly store items
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and dining spaces
• Assist cooks and food services staff as needed
• Follow infection control, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Respond appropriately to requests from nursing staff and residents
• Adhere to HIPAA and resident confidentiality requirements

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required
• Prior dietary or food service experience is helpful but not required
• Ability to follow instructions and diet guidelines accurately
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively in English

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Lifting, carrying, and moving trays, dishes, and supplies
• Bending, stooping, and reaching as needed
• Exposure to kitchen and food service environments
