Dietary Aide

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assembles prepared food on trays for general and therapeutic diets.
• Maintains tray line in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
• Delivers food trucks to patient floors as specified. Returns them to the dish room at designated times.
• Tends and loads dish machine in patient/employee dish room.
• Washes certain items by hand such as pot, pans and utensils.
• Disposes of trash and garbage as scheduled. Cleans and sanitizes trash containers as they are emptied.
• Cleans and sanitizes all food and supply carts in the department at the end of each shift.
• Maintains clean and sanitary dining areas prior to and following each meal period.
• Assists in preparing such items as salads, dessert or nourishments.
• Affords assistance in the storage of food and supplies following deliveries using the first-in, first-out method.
• Prepares and delivers late trays as instructed.
• Performs heavy cleaning following the cleaning schedule.
• Assists in the set-up, service and clean-up of special meetings and functions.

Qualifications

• Must be OK with cross training.
• Weekends are required.
