DIETARY AIDE

Position Summary

The Dietary Aide/Kitchen Staff member prepares various meals for patients and patrons of Hospital & Medical Foundation of Paris, Inc. Other responsibilities include maintaining hot and cold food temperatures, planning cooking schedules, and ensuring proper food packaging and serving.

Essential Functions

• Maintains hot and cold food temperatures according to established guidelines.
• Plans cooking schedule in conjunction with Supervisor to ensure food is ready at specified times.
• Confers with Supervisor /Manager regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers.
• Prepares, dips, and packages foods according to established procedures for Meals-On-Wheels.
• Ensures that all containers/ serving trays are stocked with dishes, trays, tableware, cups, etc., and are readily available.
• Keeps patient Kardex current by recording dietary changes as orders are received.
• Checks menus before each meal, making additions and deletions as needed.
• (Consider incorrect meals prepared).
• Answers department telephone indicating area, personal name, and job title.
• Using courteous, respectful tone, takes messages and relays information as needed in a prompt manner.
• Serves employees and guests in the cafeteria line – greeting patrons cheerfully.
• Treats customers with respect, courtesy, and patience.
• (Consider complaints received).
• Is willing to be flexible to meet patient care needs.
• Cooperates to provide coverage when needed.
• Cross trains to other job tasks.
• Accepts assignments willingly.

Position Requirements

• High School education or equivalent
• Food Service Sanitation Certification from IDPH is preferred

Pay Range

Pay ranges from $15.00/hour to $20.603/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
